I cant say I was after a Penolino photo on this particular day. I was actually out to catch the remaining 87's that were doing two diagrams each weekend, but this was the only shot that I got with a boat in the frame. It was taken at Ansty on the Oxford Cannel tow path on 15th May 2005.

50049 & 50031 at Water Orton
40154 passes a very chilly Winstanstow in a lucky patch of winter sunshine with Pathfinder's 'Welsh Whistler' Crewe - Crewe rail tour on 25th February 2006. The type 4 failed later that day on the return leg from Cardiff with a faulty brake pipe.
On 25th March 2006 Pathfinder ran the the 'Redmire Rambler' taking two Class 50's from Cardiff to York and on to Redmire. 50049 ' Defiance' & 50031 'Hood' are pictured here tackling the Lickey Incline at Vigo in Bromsgrove at 07:58. The rear bogie on 50031 was at this point throwing out some smoke which effected the clarity of the coaching stock on this exposure.
The pair are seen here later on the main line at Water Orton at 08:44 having stopped to pick up at Birmingham New Street.

I was in the Kent/Surrey area on 29th July 2005 to record what was officially supposed to be the end of Class 73 haulage on the Gatwick Express so whilst in the area I decided to head over to Sole Street, Kent on a recommendation. As the slam door stock days were numbered with only a few months left in operation I was informed that this area would provide one slam door service every half hour. Sure enough it did and within 20 minutes of my arrival 4-VEP 3498 appeared.
40145 - Winstanstow
Bescot yard is home to a number of stored locomotives from various classes. This image, taken on 20/08/05 shows the line up of some of the Class 08 shunters, all in varying states of neglect. From the front Class numbers are 08543 in Departmental Gray, 08828 EWS, 08884 BR Blue with RfD markings, 08418 EWS, UID - EWS, 08528 Departmental Gray and 08742 in RES.

The 19th August saw Arriva run a Fishguard centenary special and having been bowled by cloud on the outbound working I decided to go for a night shot at Cheltenham where 50049 'Defiance' is pictured, just before 22:00 with the 1Z51 Fishguard - Tyseley.
