60030 - Bescot
60061 - Rainbow Hill Tunnel
A grubby looking 60030 is seen here hauling a small rake of empty MHA wagons into Bescot sidings on 21st January 2006. I had literally arrived at this spot 10 seconds before 030 appeared at 11:30.
60064 - Croome

This was one of the first pictures I took using a digital camera and I was messing about with the settings when this working took me by surprise, so you'll have to excuse the quality. Looking back over the EXIF data the image was captured at 250th/Sec - f4.5 and at about 125mm without image stabilizer on.. how I managed to stop the train and avoid camera shake I don't know..

The only image I have of a triple grey Load Haul branded locomotive, a very attractive colour scheme in my eyes... 60 064 'Black Tor' (named on only one side) passes Croome with the 6V07 Round Oak - Margam empty steel on 13th January 2005.

60083 'Mountsorrel ' approaches Burton-upon-Trent with the 6M57 Lindsey-Kingsbury tanks on 30th August 2005.

Corus Liveried 60 033 'Tees Steel Express' waits for its next train at Peak Forest, it accompanies three other class members 60 024 60 086 and I couldn't quite get the number of the one hidden away! The picture was taken on 6th March 2005.

60 016 latterly renumbered 60 500 stands at platform 3 of Hereford station with the 6M75 Newport ADJ - Warrington 'Enterprise' service at 20:24, June 2004.

60032 - Abbotswood

On 14th April 2006 60032 has charge of 6V92 again as it passes through Besford.
60060 - Abbotswood
60096 - Hereford
60032 - Croome
60082 - Defford
The 6V92 Corby - Margam empty steel was probably my most photographed class 60 hauled train during 2006. The service was a regular for class 60 turn through out the year. The working was timed to run through my home county of Worcestershire at around 14:00 which is perfect timing for the sun at many local vantage points in the summer months. Transrail liveried 60032 'William Booth' is the first of many 'tugs' on the working on this page and the location is the road bridge at Abbotswood Junction on 5th May 2006 on this occasion V92 was running late, passing me at 15:16.
60083 - Burton
60020 - Worcester
60082 powers through Defford on 25th May 2006 with the 6V92 Corby - Margam empty steel.
After having a drought of decent full sun shots I headed down to Hereford for some night photography on 3rd February 2006. After a long wait in the cold 60096 pulled up with a rake of powered Network Rail autoballasters and a team of Network Rail workers jumped on board for night time possession further up the line the exposure was started at 23:49 and the 20 second exposure wasn't finished until 00:00 so the date for this shot could be either 03/03/06 or 04/06/06!
Another Transrail liveried example, 60061 'Alexander Graham Bell' passes through Rainbow Hill Tunnel having just departed Worcester Shrub Hill with the 6M81 Llanwern - Round Oak loaded steel on 8th June 2006. 6M81 usually arrives at Shrub Hill around 07:00 to set down and collect wagons and departure during 2006 was normally bang on 09:00. The locomotive on the service is diagrammed to have charge of the returning 6V07 Round Oak - Margam steel so the same locomotive can usually be had twice in the same day around Worcester.
60060 - Worcester
Fresh from three months in EWS' WNTR storage pool 60060 'James Watt' works one of its first services since reinstatement. The 6V07 Round Oak - Margam steel empties, seen here passing through Abbotswood on 29th August 2006.
60020 powers away from Worcester with 6M11 Llanwern - Round Oak loaded steel on 1st June 2007. The lines to the left lead to Worcester Shrub Hill, while the lines on the right head to Worcester Foregate Street - out of sight in the background another line to Foregate Street forms a triangle.
60060 'James Watt' passes through Worcester shortly after leaving Shrub Hill. The service is the 6V07 Round Oak - Margam empty steel hoods, a train which often picks up wagons from the sidings at Shrub Hill. On this occasion it had a clear run with no empties to collect after the bank holiday weekend. The locomotive had spent the last three months in storage and had been reinstated the same day as this shot was taken on 29th August 2006. I managed to outrun the train to Abbotswood where another shot was had which can be viewed here.
60040 Whitacre Junction
60065 - Abbotswood
60040 in the original EW&S livery passes through Whitacre Junction on 2nd November 2006. The train was the 6G73 Toton - Wolverhampton steel. I was out to photograph 37406 on 6G36 that day and that was already in the bag (picture here), this was a bonus shot before leaving taken at 11:10.
60065 'Spirit of Jaguar' heads 6V92 Corby - Margam empties on 2nd November 2006. The location in a foot crossing between Abbotswood Junction and Pirton in Worcestershire.
60059 - Croome
60059 passes Croome with the 6V07 Round Oak - Margam on 12th September 2006.
60007 - Croome
60004 - Eckington
The same train and location as above this time with fellow Load Haul 60007 at the helm on 9th November 2006.
Hereford has always been a great spot for night photography on account that most EWS services are booked to stop for a crew change. On 23rd December 2004 60028 pauses with a fun size 6V80 Dee Marsh - Margam empty steel, the bill board was rather fitting given the uncertain future for the 'tugs'.

(35mm Scan)
60004' passes over the river Avon at Eckington with 6E41 Westerleigh-Lindsey empties on 28th November 2006.
60007 - Warrington
60014 - Warrington
60078 - Blakedown
60014 'Alexander Fleming' heads a rake of ex National Power JNA hoppers through Arpley Junction, Warrington on 7th April 2007. The working was 7F16 Liverpool Bulk Terminal - Fiddlers Ferry.
A day prior to the above shot and 60074 starts its train as it leaves Warrington Arpley with a rake of HAA hoppers. The tops allocation for the loco was 7F20 Warrington Arpley - Liverpool Bulk Terminal. I cant make out the loco number but an EWS 66 can we seen heading north through Warrington Bank Quay in the background.
A colourful combination with 60007 hauling a rake if EWS HTA hoppers through Warrington Low Level on Good Friday 2007.
60078 passes though Blakedown with 6V07 Round Oak - Margam steel hoods on 04/04/07.
Sole surviving Trainload Petroleum liveried Class 60 No. 60054 'Charles Babbage' heads 6V92 Corby - Margam empty coil through Defford on 28th March '07. I'd been bowled every time I went out for this loco in 2007. Although there was some air pollution tainting the shot I was still well pleased the get it in the sun. The Trainload liveries of the late 80's to mid 90's are some of the best liveries carried by loco's in the UK in my eye's, for me the livery brings back memories of better times on UK rails.
60054 - Defford
60054 is pictured on 6V92 again two months later at Croome on 28th May 2007.
60021 at Lea Marston
60071 at Defford
A short while later 60007 is back having ran round its train.
60021 heads though Lea Marston with 6M10 Peak Forest - Washwood Heath with a mix of RMC and Cemex liveried hoppers in tow on 17th October 2007.
60071 'Ribblehead Viaduct' passes Defford with 6V92 Corby - Margam on 24th August 2007.
60059 - Great Cheverell
Grubby looking 60059 passes Great Cheverell on the Berks & Hants with 6B33 12:12 Theale - Margam Murco on 16th February 2008. The working was diverted over the B & H due to engineering around Swindon.
60077 - Badgeworth
60077 - Badgeworth 6E41 Westerleigh - Lindsay. 15/04/08.
