The former MoD site at Long Marston started receiving workings conveying stock for storage in the later part of 2005. The branch from Honeybourne to Long Marston was therefore reopened and within a short space of time the site became home to number of HST sets and DVT's as well as redundant or stored wagons. On 17th December Cotswold Rail moved two power cars and two Mk III coaches to the site using their hired in HNRC class 20's 20905 & 20096 which at the time were out based at Gloucester for snow plough duties. The working is seen here passing the site of the former Fladbury station, captured at 10:11. The working had originated at MoD Bicester the previous day and had spent the night at Gloucester before re commencing as 5Z22 Gloucester - Long Marston. |

20301 'Max Joule 1958 - 1999' & 20309 amble through Norton Barracks in Worcestershire with the 6M67 Bridgewater - Crewe flasks on 17th August 2006. The train usually stables at Worcester Shrub Hill for a short period during its journey north, where as the Berkeley flasks generally take the main line via the Lickey incline. Mega luck with the sun on this occasion, the storm clouds in the background had moved in not long after the 20's had passed. |

31601 'Mayor of Casterbridge' arrives at its destination with the Wessex Trains 2M84 13.20 Westbury to Swindon on 19th March 2005. Fragonset liveried 31459 is on the rear. This loco hauled diagram ceased soon after the shot was taken with the set being used on an as required basis with Wessex trains usually during busy summer weekends. This lasted until Wessex trains was absorbed into the new western franchise which became part of First Great Western in 2006. |

FM Rail's first coal trial took place on 25th July 2006 with three Class 31's involved, here 31601 & 31454 head the return working 6F31 Rugely - Mantle Lane through Ryecroft Junction. The sun was just going in behind cloud when they appeared but the light held out just enough for a decent shot of what must be one of the workings of the year - unfortunately as could be expected from FM rail, the trial wasn't a success. |

31601 & 31233 pass through Spetchley in Worcestershire with 4Z08 08:55 Derby RTC - Bristol Barton Hill. I'd woken up to a winter wonderland just a few hours before this shot was taken on April 6th '08. By the time the peds arrived at 10:34 the snow had almost all gone and the cloud was starting to build up. |
